Wasting Time Is As Important As Spending Time Usefully

Sometimes wasting time is gaining life. That is because time is not of the essence, contrary to what we have been led to believe.
Wasting time is just as important as spending time useful

Wasting time is a relative concept that we need to look at from a different perspective. For example, it is an important key to our well-being. Wasting time is just as important as spending time usefully. Let’s dwell on this for a moment. We live in a society that has convinced us that time is money. We should make the most of every second of our lives.

This leads us without a doubt into the already familiar and recurring web of stress and anxiety disorders. They are the result of our neglecting ourselves. Time is therefore not money, gold or silver. Time is much more valuable because time is life.

Time management

Knowing how to manage our time and allowing ourselves to do absolutely nothing now and then leads to peace of mind. However, we often have a hard time doing this. The reason is that we have already spent many hours of our lives in “productivity mode”. Our minds have learned that lying on the couch and resting is a waste of time.

On the other hand, there are also “experts” in time management such as Dr. Alex Soojung Kim Pang. He is known for his work as a counselor in Silicon Valley.

In his book  Why You Get More Done When Yo Work Less , he explains that it’s time to change our lifestyle. We need to recognize that sometimes “wasting” time is winning. It ensures that we recharge our batteries and find peace.

Wasting time is equally important because that’s how you win life

Wasting time is equally important because you gain life

Max Weber is a well-known philosopher, economist and sociologist of the twentieth century. He believed that with the rise of the industrial revolution, people began to associate themselves with their work activity in an almost religious way.

So work was no longer just a way to earn money and survive. It was and still is a way of life.

For many, work gives value to human beings. Activity equals productivity. While this is partly true, we usually go into extreme detail about this. It even goes so far that some people are unable to relax.

Believing that being inactive is synonymous with wasting time leads to psychological exhaustion. dr. Leonard Reinecke, for example, conducted an interesting study on this at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz in Germany.

This study indicates that many people consider themselves inferior when they spend time watching television. They then feel guilty about not being active and consider it a waste of time.

Don’t be like the white rabbit

“Oh dear! Oh dear! I will be late!” This is what the white rabbit said in  Alice in Wonderland. This endearing character symbolizes the extremely busy lives that many people lead.

Admit it, we always think there’s something to do. We are constantly looking at the clock. We nurture this kind of behavior without ceasing. They lead to the abyss of anxiety and exhausting psychological states.

However, the culture of productivity and perfection leaves us feeling guilty. The only reason for this is that we have devoted a little of our time to doing nothing. Sometimes our mind torments us with thoughts about all the things we are supposed to do.

Wasting time is equally important, so give yourself time

Sometimes wasting time really doesn’t take anything away from you. Rather it is the opposite. Pause for a moment. It’s time to stop believing that you need to be productive every minute of your life.

This is the ideal time to allow yourself to be a child again. You may get bored so that you will finally feel free, relaxed and even playful.

You should be doing nothing for several hours a day. This triggers creativity and reflection. We really need to understand that working better does not necessarily mean that we have to work more. In fact, working fewer hours is much more productive. In addition, our quality of life will improve.

Another final thought, you must learn to give yourself this exceptional gift. Give yourself the time and opportunity to just limit yourself to being there, to exist and enjoy life to the fullest with your five senses.
